I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures from Mt. Airy Lodge. My husband has slides taken in 1973. I was at the casino this weekend, which is built on the site of the lodge. Do you have any pictures of the demolition of the gold dome?
I still hum the commercial regularly, so I'll probably never forget that dream, but I have been searching all evening without finding a commercial that has the champagne glass hot tub in it. I know it exists - my sister and I can't both have had the same delusion!
My sister and I both dreamed of being a grown-up one day and getting a room with those. We did it independently and just discovered that it was a shared dream during a phone conversation last week! Do you have any pictures of it?
I'd love to be able to share some of your family photos and history in the new upcoming book... https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/beautiful-mount-airy-lodge-book-books-photography/x/290293#/
my wife and I honeymooned there in 1992. we were hoping to come back there for our 25th. gone now. a casino is just not the same. we had lots of fun back then it was a great place.
My family vacationed at Mt. Airy Lodge several times a year from 1969 to 1989, and then a few times until the early 90's. In 2005 I was on vacation near Bushkill Falls and decided to ride over. I knew it had closed, and read about the auction, but wasn't quite prepared for the demolition... :*(
